Kathleen's Review of Hometown Threads

Hometown Threads

Fall is one of my favorite times of the year to go shopping, especially this year.  This fall, I was on the lookout to find a special gift for my new granddaughter (due on Christmas day).  After racking my brain, the Mom Squad came to my rescue.  I was invited to go with Sara and Gina on a shopping trip to Hometown Threads in North Olmsted!  Hometown Threads is a family-owned business that offers custom embroidery, screen printing, digital printing and more.

I was so excited about the shopping trip that I arrived almost an hour early!  Sue at Hometown Threads immediately greeted me and made me feel right at home.  She showed me around the store and explained that they are able to monogram/embroider items that you purchase from Hometown Threads or items that you purchase somewhere else and bring to Hometown Threads for personalization.

Allan, the owner, gave me a rundown of the store’s history.  He explained how they started in a small space at the local Wal-Mart store and then, as the business grew, they moved to their current location at 4636 Great Northern Boulevard.  They added more embroidery machines and a digital printer which takes your pictures and prints them directly onto items such as t-shirts or woven throws.

The prices for the items are clearly displayed in the store.  Many of the prices listed include the cost of personalization.  The turn-around time varies according to what you purchase and what you want done.  I found the prices and the turn-around time to be very reasonable.  My item was ready in less than one week and the total cost of my item was less than $30 including personalization.

Before I share with you what I chose for my granddaughter, here are some other great gift ideas I found in the store:

Monogrammed towels
If you have a wedding shower to attend in the near future, you can either buy towels from Hometown Threads or bring in towels that you purchased from the wedding couple’s gift registry.  This way you can give the newlyweds something they picked out, but with an added personal touch from you.

Lunch bags:
Personalized lunch bags are great for younger children because no other child will have the same lunch bag!  Also, a personalized lunch bag may be a great gift for an older child or adult if you have it monogrammed or have their initials put on it instead.

Items for football games:
Show support for your local high school’s football team by purchasing a warm, soft blanket and a matching cap to take along to each game.  Add a monogram or initials to personalize.  No more freezing at the game!

Sports bag:

Do you have a child that needs to keep track of all his/her sports gear?  Hometown Threads offers a wide variety of duffel bags that can be personalized in many different ways.  No more hunting around for lost shoes and gear!

Baby items
Hometown Threads offers so many cute items for babies.  It was really hard to choose only one gift.  However, I chose a Lovie™ blanket (Baby’s First Sleepytime Friend Character Blanket) and had our granddaughter’s name and a cross embroidered on it for her:
The blanket is so soft and cuddly.  I am sure Reagan will love it, too!

Hometown Threads has a friendly staff, a huge selection of items, and reasonable prices. If you are looking for a special, personalized gift to give to family or friends, I highly recommend a visit to Hometown Threads.  Hometown Threads is Mom Squad approved!
